Robot for Inspection and Repairs in Nuclear Reactors
|
At the core of a CANDU nuclear reactor is the Calandria vessel. It contains a network of horizontal tubes for fuelling the reactor. After several decades of service these fuelling tubes must be replaced in a process known as re-tubing of the reactor. It is of utmost importance that during this operation no debris or foreign matter remain inside the Calandria. ESI is supplying robots for such operations with the ability to pick up and remove any debris. ESI is supplying custom-made robotic systems that can be used to inspect the interior of nuclear reactor core. |

Pipe Robots and Keyhole Technology Robotic Tools
ESI offers remote controlled pipe robotics for inspection and maintenance.
|
ESI provides custom-made robots for inspection and repair of 6" - 12" and 16" - 36" cast iron natural gas mains. The systems are used to internally seal bell-and-spigot type joints by injecting liquid anaerobic sealant into the jute packing of the joint. Due to its numerous advantages, anaerobic injection has become the most favoured of the external joint repair techniques in recent years. The internal joint sealing systems have proven the effectiveness of the method for sealing of the joints. The anaerobic sealant injection can be used for repairing leaking joints, or as a preventive measure. Plastic gasket formed inside the joint cavity by the cured sealant is a more effective and durable seal than the original lead seal. |
