MV1 - Machine Vision Based Positioning

The MV1 is a high-precision planar robotic positioner that uses machine vision for locating desired sites in multi-layered printed circuit boards. Machine vision is also used to generate a sequence of movements and redesign/re-engineer operations depending on the conditions of the site. It can be used to perform drilling operations with an accuracy of 0.002 inches and is capable of operating under a variety of lighting conditions.
The components of the system are a positioner, a commercial vision system, and custom-designed software.
