The Opportunity:

We work on highly challenging and stimulating problems in the advance and use of robotics. The candidate will be responsible for motion control algorithm design and implementation for robot arms. The candidate should have a keen interest in analytical engineering work and development and test activities. The job is quite versatile, ranging from derivation and implementation of both kinematic and dynamic models of robot arms and of advanced control algorithms and related digital signal processing algorithms for robot arms, design and implementation of high performance PID control algorithms for electronic motor velocity and position control based on motor driver in torque mode and perform simulations and tests and validations of control strategies.

Your Academic, Knowledge and Skills include:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in development of motion control algorithms and embedded control systems
• Strong knowledge about dynamic systems and controls
• Strong knowledge and experience in development of model-based control and rapid prototyping tools such as MATLAB/Simulink
• Strong working experience in real-time digital control programming for brushless DC motors
• Working experience in computer networking, and communication protocols
• Working experience in C and C++ and software development process

MECHATRONIC DESIGN ENGINEER

The Opportunity:

The role of a mechanical or mechatronic engineer at ESI is to advance robotic systems through the design of effective mechanical and electronic systems. Think about all the knowledge and skills a human requires to walk forward, and try to imagine how you’d implement that with a highly sophisticated robotic system. It is cool stuff!
We work on highly challenging and stimulating problems in the advance and use of robotics. The job is quite versatile, ranging from research to design, producing working drawings, detail drawings and bill of materials, other related documents for advanced robotic manipulator and automation systems. You will source reliable components that sensibly balance cost, performance, lead‐times; finalizing detailed designs that meet technical, schedule, cost and manufacturing requirements. Furthermore, you will perform engineering analysis of mechanical systems and prepare technical reports as required.

Your Academic, Knowledge and Skills include:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
• 5+ years of relevant experience in robotic and automation system.
• Experience with robotic manipulator system design and test.
• Strong experience with SolidWorks/EPDM software.
• Robot joint torque calculation, motor and gear selection.
• Structure FEA analysis and dynamic motion analysis is a plus.
• Familiarity with fabrication processes and machine shop capabilities.
• Detail drawings and bills of materials for equipment, sub-assemblies or product.
• Experience with reviewing drawings for accuracy, material selection, proper machining techniques, finishes, and hardness.
• Experience with project management and cost control.

SOFTWARE SYSTEMS DEVELOPER

The job is quite versatile, ranging from operational and strategic plans for product development, project planning, time and cost estimations, creating software requirements and specifications, creating and implementing software architectural designs, creating software verification and validation plans/processes (including code reviews, unit testing, etc.) and guiding or mentoring other team members.

SOFTWARE SYSTEMS DEVELOPER

The Opportunities:

Main Duties:
• Reading specifications and writing detailed test plans
• Designing, writing and maintaining automated validation tests
• Examining build and verification checklists to ensure release-ready
• Filing defects, providing description and boundary conditions, as well as retesting of fixes and closing of defects
• Interfacing with support/application team for reproducing defects found in the field
• Reporting and documenting of test plans, test results and test coverage
• Working with software team members to come up with tests for features under development, as well as ways to reproduce or narrow down faults.

Your Academic, Knowledge and Skills include:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering
• 5+ years of experience as software validation engineer
• Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Tcl, Perl, etc)
